2024 Club/Travel League Rules

AGES:

Divisions are based upon player’s ages as of April 30, 2024. (2024 Ages).

DIVISIONS:

If enough teams are available in the odd-age divisions (i.e. 7U, 9U, 11U, 13U, etc.) that division will be scheduled separately from the even ages (8U, 10U, 12U, etc.), unless general consensus of odd-age coaches agrees to combine the divisions.

LEAGUE START DATE:

Around February 1st, 2024

TEAM PLAYER ROSTERS/WAIVERS:

Rosters will be open until March 16th, 2024, which means you can make substitutions to your roster during that time.  A Team Waiver (similar to those used during tournaments) must be on file with parent signatures for each player on your roster and must be submitted before the first scheduled game. Any additions to your roster will require a signed waiver from that player’s parent as well.

LEAGUE RULES:

These “Local” rules then MLB rules. (If the rule is not found in the Local rules, then we go to MLB rules.)

GAME SCHEDULES:

14- regular season games - End of Year "Tournament of Champions"

LENGTH OF GAMES:

8u/10u/11u/12u will play 6 innings or 1:45 no new inning.

14u/16u/18u will play 7 innings or 1:45 no new inning.

A new inning begins when the 3rd out is made in the previous inning. The new inning does not begin when the Defensive team takes the field.

MERCY RULES:

20 runs after 2 innings

15 runs after 3 innings

10 runs after 4 innings

8 runs after 5 innings

IF HOME TEAM IS AT-BAT AND WINNING WHEN TIME EXPIRES, THE GAME IS OVER AND THE SCORE IS REPORTED AS WHAT IT IS AT THAT POINT.

Every effort will be made to complete the league, including make up games when available. In the event of rain or darkness, the Club League Commissioner reserves the right to shorten games or modify schedules in order to finish the league.

GAME RULES:

SCOREKEEPING:

Home team is responsible for keeping score.

A maximum of 9 defensive players in the field and a minimum of 8 required to play. Manager may elect to bat 9, 10 with EH or entire roster. DH may be used for the Pitcher Only.

COURTESY RUNNER PITCHER/CATCHER ANY TIME (Last out)

Teams may run for the pitcher/catcher of record at ANY time with a player on the bench. If a team is batting 9/10 players, it must be the substitute player (does not count as a substitution). If batting entire lineup, it’s the player who made the last out.

A runner must slide or attempt to avoid contact with another player. Any player that attempts to hurt or injure another player will be called out. If the umpire feels the contact was malicious, the offending player will be ejected from the game. An ejected player or coach may be ineligible for the next game as well at the discretion of the League Commissioner.

PITCHING RULES: (These are maximum innings - Coaches Please use discretion and do not overpitch your players).

9u/10u/11u/12u= 6 innings maximum per day.

13u/14u= 7 innings maximum per day.

 18u= Unlimited

A pitcher who pitches in more than one game on the same calendar day may pitch any combination of innings as long as they do not exceed the division max.

Violation of the above pitching rules will result in the ejection of both the manager and the player from the game. If this violation occurs, both manager and player must sit out their next scheduled game also.

Once a pitcher pitches one pitch, it’s considered an inning pitched.

No pitches need to be thrown to intentionally walk a batter; tell umpire you are walking batter and put batter on base.

Upon a second trip to the mound in the same inning, the pitcher must be removed for ALL divisions and may not return to the mound.

FORFEITS:

If a team fails to show up for a scheduled game, without notice, that team MAY be removed from the league with NO REFUND of league fees. If a team cannot field a minimum of 8 players, the game will be forfeited and the score will be as 7-0 for all divisions.

PROTEST RULE:

If a protest is filed a $100 protest fee must be paid at the time of the protest, this is to eliminate false protest to stall the game. If protest is granted in your favor the fee will be returned. The game will be stopped at that point and ruled upon by the League Commissioner, or his designee.

All managers are responsible for their fans, coaches and players. It will be their responsibility to make sure all act appropriately. If a parent or spectator is causing a distraction to the game or umpire, the manager will be warned and if repeated the manager will be ejected from the game. In the event the manager, coach, player spectator is thrown out of the game they will be asked to leave the baseball compound. If he/she does not leave the field within 5 minutes his or her team will forfeit the game at that time.

If a player is ejected from the game and no substitute is available an out will be recorded every time that batter comes up in the batting order.  If a manager/player is ejected, they must also sit out the next scheduled game.
